Harris Lowry Manton LLP Associate Attorney Spencer P. Mead is responsible for helping the firm’s legal team develop, handle and prepare cases for trial. His practice areas include personal injury, product liability, car accidents and truck accidents.
Prior to joining Harris Lowry Manton LLP, Spencer worked as an Associate Attorney at law firms in Atlanta, Ga; Charlotte, N.C.; and Greensboro, N.C. He began his legal career in patent prosecution, working with several Fortune 500 companies on complex patent law issues related to new technologies. After nearly five years in patent prosecution, Spencer focused on intellectual property litigation before transitioning to plaintiff personal injury litigation, with a focus on automobile accidents, trucking accidents and premises liability cases.
Originally from Naples, Fla., Spencer earned a J.D. with a Certificate in Intellectual Property from the University of Richmond School of Law in Richmond, Va. In law school, he served as the Managing Editor, Associate Survey Editor and Symposium Editor for the Journal of Law and Technology. A member of the Moot Court Board, Spencer was named a finalist in the Carrico Moot Court Competition and served as a member of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association. Spencer also has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Electronics from Clemson University.
Spencer is licensed to practice law in Georgia and North Carolina and is a registered Patent Attorney as well as a member of the Georgia Bar Association, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and North Carolina State Bar.
