Who Is Liable for a Car Accident?

Almost every automobile wreck that takes place on the road is caused by one of three things, and sometimes a combination of those three. The first is an inattentive driver. This occurs when someone crosses the center line, follows too closely, or was going too fast and causes a wreck. There’re two other types of cases that evolve out of a car wreck that always need to be looked into.

One, the car did not perform properly. This can lead to a product defect case, or a product liability case, that could be the fault of the automobile manufacturer or the maintenance company that was repairing the vehicle. The third situation that contributes to a car wreck is the road was not maintained properly. Maybe it was not designed with sufficient sight distance or something was left behind when they were constructing the road, such as loose gravel.

At Harris Lowry Manton, we always take a holistic approach and look outside not just at the individual driver’s behavior, but look to see if something with the automobile caused or contributed to the wreck, or something with the road caused or contributed to the wreck. It’s important to take the full 360 view of every accident so you can get to the truth of what happened.

Harris Lowry Manton LLP will investigate the events surrounding your car accident, and look for contributing factors to show someone else is liable.
