Food, Music and Appreciation Abounded at the Fourth Annual First Responders Appreciation Celebration Lunch

First Responders put their hearts and souls – and sometimes their lives – into keeping our communities safe. Without their hard work, commitment and sacrifice, the world would be a very different place. Each year, Harris Lowry Manton LLP reminds these brave men and women how grateful we all are for the work they do. This year’s Annual First Responders Appreciation Celebration Lunch was dedicated to them, as a way to give back to those who give us so much.

“We just wanted to take at least one day out of the year where we could thank them for everything they do,” partner Steve Lowry told WJCL 22. “Their job is extremely important and we just want to make sure they get recognized for what they do and give them a day where we can have some fun, have some food, have some music and just have a good time.”

This is the fourth year in a row we have hosted this event, and this year’s celebration was the most heavily-attended yet. The lunch was held in Daffin Park, and First Responders from all over the Coastal Empire came out in droves. Kirk Blaine and his team put together an incredible meal, including hamburgers, BBQ sandwiches, brats in pretzel buns and fresh coleslaw. Junkyard Angel performed for the crowd, and we gave away many great prizes, including Yeti cups, an iPad, and the new Amazon Echo Show.

Even on National First Responders Day, honorees were hard at work

Wednesday, September 27th was National First Responders Day, but Savannah’s finest were still working hard. As Savannah Now reported, “At one point, a call went out over the radio, amplified by the number of scanners in the crowd. A group of Fire and EMS workers leaped up and headed towards their vehicle to deal with an accident with injuries.”

HLM is proud to support our First Responders.
