Congratulations, Korinne Morris, on Obtaining an Advanced Paralegal Certification in Product Liability

Harris Lowry Manton LLP is proud to announce that Korinne Morris has earned her advanced paralegal certification in product liability from the National Association of Legal Assistants. Korinne is just one of 26 individuals in the world to have earned this particular advanced certification credential, and she is the first and only paralegal in Georgia to have obtained it. This makes HLM the only Georgia law firm to employ a legal assistant with this certification credential.

The Advanced Paralegal Certification program

The National Association of Legal Assistants, or NALA, is a non-profit organization, and “the leading paralegal association in the U.S. Its mission is to provide continuing education and professional development programs to all paralegals.” They offer 26 different advanced certification courses.

In order to complete the certification program for product liability, Korinne had to first pass the Certified Paralegal examination. This process requires that “A paralegal [to] successfully complete each of the five sections to achieve the Certified Paralegal credential. Certification is valid for a period of five years. To maintain certification, paralegals must submit proof of participation of a minimum of 50 hours of continuing legal education programs, including 5 hours of legal ethics.”

Once she earned her Certified Paralegal credential, Korinne was eligible to focus on a specific practice area – in this case, personal injury. After successful completion of the PI Core Course, she began her studies in product liability. That work was completed on July 25, 2017.

We know that these courses were intensive and challenging. Korinne met these challenges with the same passion and determination she brings to our clients every day. We are all very proud of her achievements; it is people like Korinne who help make HLM the powerhouse Georgia law firm it is. We know this will help our clients even more, now and in the future.
